Help Clean Up The Environment By RecyclingRecycling refers to the process of collecting used materials which is usually considered as waste and reprocessing them. In this process these used materials are sorted and processed to be used as raw materials for the production of new products. Recycling as much of our material waste as possible is one way each of us can make a difference. The State of Oregon has set a goal of recycling 64% of the waste stream by the year 2009. Recycling in schools can really help us, but it should be treated with due seriousness and students must be encouraged to participate in the process. Recycling uses a certain amount of energy as well. Upcycling, on the other hand, removes the item entirely from this loop, thereby conserving energy and being a more sustainable solution to trash. Recycling all types of plastics can be a costly process as it requires hand-sorting by trained staff. For this reason, some materials reclamation facilities will not be able to recycle all types of plastic. Recycling the recovered materials is simple for metals and glass; they can be melted down, reformed, and reused. Yard waste can be composted with little or no equipment. Recycling containers are becoming more commonplace as we realize that our ecosystem requires some TLC. There are several paths to a Greener Earth and recycling provides a doable and efficient (ten times energy savings) way to participate in the process. Recycling is not difficult. Many regions have free recycling pickup.
